ADDITIONAL TERMS THAT APPLY WHEN SWIMMING BETWEEN OCTOBER AND APRIL

I understand and accept that swimming in open water during colder months (water 15 degrees Celsius and below) involves additional risks.

To help mitigate these risks:

I have taken steps to be informed about the effect cold water may have on my body by EITHER completing a cold water induction course OR having read up on the subject.

I have gained some cold water acclimatisation by EITHER attending a cold water induction course OR swimming/immersing in cold water or taking cold showers.

I accept that as a minimum a silicone or woolly hat must be worn at all times. Neoprene gloves and swim shoes are optional.

Additionally I understand the importance of entering the lake slowly to allow my body time to acclimatise to colder open water conditions.
